Product Overview

Overview

The MS-480 continuously measures refractive index at the interface between the sensor and process liquid.
Temperature compensation and an application-specific model convert the optical measurement into concentration, °Brix or other validated process values, helping reduce dependence on periodic laboratory sampling.
Typical applications include pipelines, mixing systems, evaporation processes, recovery systems and concentration-control points.

Detection Principles

The sensor uses an LED light source, sapphire optical surface and optical receiver to measure refractive behaviour at the liquid–sensor interface. The analyzer combines the measured refractive index with temperature compensation and an application-specific calibration model to calculate the required concentration or °Brix value.
